Public Lecture by Roin Migriauli

On June 21st, 2018, in the laboratory of public law , Professor Roin Migriauli delivered a public lecture on the topic ” Legal completion of Entrepreneurial society: Voluntary and compulsory  liquidation ” The lecture was conducted , at the invitation of Faculty of Law and International Relations and GTU.

The lecture was opened by the Head of  Civil Law Department of Faculty of Law and International Relations, Professor Tsiala Gloveli.  Roin Migriaul talked about the important issues of   Entrepreneurial law. Namely he clarified the issues related to liquidation, reviewed the world practice and made explanations based on the immediate examples.

The meeting was summarized by Head of Civil Law Department  Professor Tsiala Gloveli. She expressed thanks for  an interesting lecture.

 

 Public Lecture by Professor Amiran Zenaishvili

On June 27, 2018  by invitation of GTU and Faculty of Law and International Relations, Chairman of Georgian Professional Union of Energy Workers of Georgia  Professor Amiran Zenaishvili gave a public lecture entitled : “Practice of Termination of Employment Agreement”. The Public lecture was opened by Dean of Faculty of Law and International Relations Prof. Irakli Gabisonia. He welcomed the guest. Professor Amiran Zenaishvili talked about existing judicial practice of termination of the employment agreement.  He also gave some explanations about  decisions of the Supreme Court  and talked about theoretical and practical data. Professor Amiran Zenaishvili  answered  students’ questions. The meeting was summarized  by Head of  the Private Law Department of the Faculty of Law and International Relations Professor Tsiala Gloveli.

Mock Trial of  Civil Law  

On  July 3, 2018, in the Supreme Court of Georgia, organized by Law clinic of the Faculty of Law and International Relations of Georgian Technical University was held mock trial of Civil law procedure.

The  participants were evaluated by  the selected jury members, including  Lawyer   of Georgian Young Lawyers Association Mikheil Jakhua and Senior specialist of  Parliament of Georgia Nikoloz Simonishvili.  The process was preceded by the training course (12 study meetings) where students  obtained  the skills of Lawyer;

This course was led by the lawyer of the Georgian Young Lawyers Association Mr. David Lomtadze. The winner team was revealed as a result of the competition. The team  consisted of the following successful students: Niko Merebashvili, Tornike Gakhokia, Martha Amiranashvili, Nino Khulusauri and Lana Sisoshvili. Nika Merebashvili, Sopo Darchia, Tornike Kapanadze, giga Gorgadze and Guga Magrolaria were awarded with  the title of the best defendant.

Together with the certificates, the participants were awarded with textbooks. Imitated trials  are aimed at utilizing the students’  knowledge they have gained into    practical work  and develop  skills required for their professional progress.Law clinic of the Faculty of Law and International Relations  still plans to conduct similar projects. Such projects will give students an  opportunity  to obtain skills of  lawyer  and learn how  to draw legal documents within the University

Public Lecture by Marika Gersamia 

 

On July 5, 2018 at 13:00,  in the Laboratory of Public Law will be held  Public Lecture of Lawyer of  Legal Aid Service,  Marika Gersamia  on the topic:  “The Inviolability of Private Life  and  Freedom of Expression ”  organized by   Faculty of Law and International Relations.

Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau met with students in the project “Meet Employer”

On February 3, 2018, in the framework “Meet the Employer” organized by Faculty of Law and International Relations of  Georgian Technical University, the administration of the faculty invited the Chairman and heads of departments of Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau

The event was opened by  the rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician  Archil Prangishvili. He welcomed  the guests and spoke about the importance of interdisciplinary projects.  The rector  introduced to the guests the general public scientific-research activities within the university and also  talked about the importance of the project “Engineering Law”.

Head of Seismic Stability of Kiryak Zavreyev Construction Mechanics and Engineering Examination Department- Badri Lepsaia and Head of Transport Technical-Expert Examination Division – David Gvelesiani delivered speeches.

After the reports,  was held  the discussion of issues regarding to the modification of the educational programs of law, namely:1. The disciplines such as  forensic psychiatry and forensic medicine,  will be added to the Elective block;2. The issues which must be envisaged  in the establishment process of Engineering Law.

Within the project “Meet the Employer”, was held the meeting with Notaries

On February 3, 2018, within the project “Meet the Employer” organized by Faculty of Law and International Relations of  Georgian Technical University, Deputy Chairman of the Notary Chamber of Georgia Tinatin Devdariani, members of the Board of the Notary Chamber of Georgia, notaries: Magi Magaldadze and Manana Gogashvili Notary of Tbilisi Davit Okroshidze, Otar Golodze, Lali Janukashvili and Tamila Gogatishvili met with the professors and students of Faculty of Law and International Relations.The dean  of the Faculty of Law and International Relations, Professor Irakli Gabisonia  opened the meeting and welcomed the guests. He  introduced the project “Meet the Employer”. The meeting was led by Deputy Chairman of the Notary Chamber of Georgia Tinatin Devdariani, who   emphasized  the activities of the Notary Chamber of Georgia.Young Notary Manana Gogashvili, member of the Board of the Notary Chamber of Georgia presented the reforms implemented in the Notary Chamber of Georgia, as well as Notarial Mediation and electronic registry of notarial acts.
Notaries: Davit Okrushidze, Otar Golodze, Lali Janukashvili and Tamila Gogatishvili spoke about the availability of notarial services, heritage cases and wedding contracts.After the reports, there was held discussion about modification processes of Bachelor of Law and Masters training programs and syllabuses. Notaries have expressed their recommendations on specific issues.The deputy chairman of the Notary Chamber of Georgia Tinatin Devdariani presented the latest legal literature to the Faculty of Law and International Relations

Within the project “Meet the Employer”, the Chairman of the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia  met with the students 

 

Within the project “Meet the Employer”, organized by Faculty of Law and International Relations of  Georgian Technical University, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia Nino Gvenetadze   met with the students  in the central library of Technical University.
The event was opened by the Rector of Georgian Technical University Academician Archil Prangishvili. He underlined the interdisciplinary projects such as engineering law, space law and business law, which were  initiated by the faculty.  The Rector emphasized the introduction of multidisciplinary programs and novelties.

The professor of Max Planck University Eliso Tsiklauri, Speaker of the Representative Council  of GTU Professor Jemal Gakhokidze,  the dean of Faculty of Law and International Relations of  Georgian Technical University Professor Irakli Gabisonia Faculty, professors, teachers and students attended the meeting.

The Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Professor Nino Gvenetadze presented the report to the audience and she expressed her thanks to University management for invitation.

The Chairman of the Supreme Court Nino Gvenetadze spoke about  fundamental aspects of the four-year strategy of court system. She underlined some issues: reforms implemented in the judiciary system, the challenges of the court and some problems of  proceedings. Professor of Max Planck University Eliko Tsiklauri-Lamiq greeted the audience and highlighted the possibility of Georgian Technical University to create and formulate interdisciplinary programs. The Chairman also talked about the creation of the “New Technologies and Legal Forecasting Center”,  which would help to forecast Modern Technologies.

  After reviewing the activities of the court, Nino Gvenetadze answered the questions of the students,  who have expressed a number of interesting and problematic opinions.  The guest also gave practical recommendations to students and wished them success.

The dean of Faculty of Law and International Relations of  Georgian Technical University Professor Irakli Gabisonia presented the following manuals:  “Investigation Law”, “Prosecutorial Law” and “Comments of the Code of Juvenile Justice Code” to Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia.

  Chairman of the Supreme Court gifted manuals  and brochures issued by the Supreme Court, to GTU library. The meeting was summarized by the Rector Academician Archil Prangishvili.

 

Within the project “Meet the Employer”, the Chairman of the National Bureau of Enforcement  met with the students

Within the project “Meet the Employer”, organized by Faculty of Law and International Relations of  Georgian Technical University, Head of the National Bureau of Enforcement of the Ministry of Justice Ioseb Bagaturia and Deputy Head Mirian Kharabadze met with students and professors on February 16, 2018. The event was opened by  dean of Faculty of Law and International Relations of  Georgian Technical University Professor Irakli Gabisonia,  emphasized  the need to hear the recommendations and  advice, which had to  be expressed in frames of  training, programs and syllabuses.

The meeting was led by Speaker of the Representative Council  of GTU Professor Jemal Gakhokidze, who requested the Head of the National Bureau of Enforcement to make a slight reporting for students. As the Head of the National Bureau of Enforcement noted, for the Bureau it is the most important to establish a tight link with students and educational institutions. The mentioned was the reason welcomed ამიტომ მიესალმება the  project “Meet Employer”. The Head of the Bureau paid special attention to draft law of  Enforcement Code and on both ongoing and future reforms. The lawyer of  the National Bureau of Enforcement  Ekaterine Akhalkatsi,  made a presentation to the students.She introduced the general provisions related to the enforcement system, as well as the aspects related to the debtor’s registry and private enforcement. Also she focused her attention  on the electronic auctions and simplified production. The chair of the National Bureau of Enforcement has proposed to study the “Enforcement Law” at Faculty. In his opinion  this will give an opportunity  to learn  issues related to the enforcement proceedings. The Chair paid a special attention to both   internship   and employment  in the  Enforcement Bureau. He urged students to use the opportunity  and  address  to the bureau with the aim to be employed in  future. The meeting envisaged the question and answer regime, which was used by students as much as possible and  they asked a number of questions about enforcement mechanisms, production, debtors registry, electronic auctions and other issues. The meeting was summarized by Speaker of GTU  Professor Jemal Gakhokidze, who expressed his thanks to the Chair of the Bureau for his visit and he assessed briefly Enforcement system in Georgia.

 

 

First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Tamar Chugoshvili public lecture

On April 3, 2018, the Faculty of Law and International Relations of Georgian Technical University organized the first Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Tamar Chugoshvili with the students and professors in the GTU central library. The meeting was opened by the Rector of Georgian Technical University, academician Archil Prangishvili, who thanked Ms. Tamar Chugoshvili for the visit. The Rector of GTU spoke about the scientific research activities of the University and highlighted the results of the Faculty of Law and International Relations and the trends developed by the Faculty of new fields, such as: Engineering Law, Investigation Law, Transport Law, etc. GTU Speaker Prof. Jemal Gakhokidze, GTU Chancellor, Professor Keti Kokrashvili, Dean of Faculty of Law and International Relations Prof. Irakli Gabisonia, Faculty Manager Ana Putkaradze, Professors and Students attended the event. First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament Tamar Chugoshvili held a public lecture on students’ topical issues. Focusing on the activities of the Parliament, in particular the supervisory function and determination of the main directions of the policy. The Vice Speaker underlined the necessity of cooperation between the Georgian Technical University and the Parliament of Georgia, she said, “The Parliament is strengthening when it cooperates with the research centers of University , because all the laws passed by the parliament should be based on strong research activities and close cooperation with universities. Tamar Chugoshvili responded to students’ questions: gender quotation, electoral system, number of MPs, pension system and others. Prof. Irakli Gabisonia, the Dean of the Faculty of Law and International Relations, presented the textbooks issued by the faculty scientific-research projects to Tamar Chugoshvili.

First Student Conference “Current Issues of Public Law”

On April 14, 2018, the first Student Conference on “Actual Issues of Public Law” was organized by GTU, Department of Public Law, Faculty of Law and International Relations. The conference was opened and the guests were welcomed by Irakli Gabisonia, Dean of Faculty of Law and International Relations, who wished success to the speakers and thanked the participants for the conference. At the first stage of conference, 65 works were presented, out of which 16 were selected after the 2-step selection. On April 14, these works were presented as presentations. Students’ papers concerned topical issues of international, constitutional and administrative law. Including the law of education, the law of justice, the right to express, the election quotas and gender equality, the standards of the European Court of Justice, the Russian-Georgian war and other issues. The corresponding Conference Commission evaluated students’ works and founded five best topics, including GTU, TSU and IBS students: Borena Kurashvili, Onise Adamia, Givi Kakushadze and Lika Krijashvili, Irakli Buturishvili and Nana Shamatava, Nugzar Grigalashvili and Mariam Kutaladze. The conference was summarized by Professor Irakli Gabisonia, Dean of the Faculty of GTU and International Relations, thanked the Commission for the work and the rapporteurs on presenting such interesting topics. Professor Mariam Jikia, Head of the Department Public Law at the faculty of Law and International Relations, awarded certificates to the conference participants and a collection of conference papers financed by the Faculty of Law and International Relations.
